TaekwonDoll.
It has always been my dream do make a doll dressed as a martial artist.
But my sons didn't want a doll, and I didn't know any little girls who practice martial arts.
And now I got my chance. My son was invited to his friend's birthday, which happened to be in a Taekwondo school. I wanted to give a little gift for his little sister, since he will get a bunch of presents. And this cute little girl also practices Taekwondo.
I started trying to remember how I made dolls twenty some years ago. I remembered making the inside of the head first.
Using a white fabric, sewing and stuffing.
The next step was to cover the face with cotton, to shape the cheeks and making a profile, then covering with a skin color nylon fabric. This part is hand sewn in the back of the head, stretching the material so it doesn't get wrinkly.
Using the shape of the head, I estimated the rest of the body.
Then cut and sew the nylon fabric, stuffing and attaching.
Then I made the uniform in white.
I wanted to give a special touch, so I painted my dragon on the back of the shirt.
I made shoes in the same fabric as the clothes.
And sewed on her feet.
After dressing with her pants, I painted details on the shoes.
To make the hair I hand sewed yellow yarn on half of her head.
Then I did the same thing on the upper half.
I did this so I could use some for bangs, and the sides to make a little ponytail.
The eyes I cut circles of black EVA and glued to the face. Some blush on the face, and the mouth I painted with a pen fabric paint.
I made her a bag using felt.
And she is a yellow belt now, but I made her future belts and placed in the bag, so she can change the doll as she progresses.
I was calling her Taekwondo doll, but I thought it would be fun to call her TaekwonDoll.
Let's hope she likes the doll.

DIY Star Wars Pet Costume: Princess Lelea.
I finished the costume for Pepito, aka Ewok, and now it was time to dress up my dog Lele.
She really looks like Yoda, but she is a girl, so she had to be princess Lea.
I started making her hair, using the leftovers from my husband's ripped brown shirt (that I used on Pepito's costume).
By rolling the pieces of fabric, it made thicker to make the hair bun, using hot glue to attach it well.
Then I started rolling on the other direction to make the bun, still using the hot glue.
I left one piece longer, to make the middle part of the hair, and glued the other bun to the opposite end.
I sewed in the middle to make the hair division.
To make her dress, I cut a white T-shirt, on the length of her legs.
I used little pieces of plush to make the arms, and glued in place.
Next I folded the sleeves to cover the arms, still using hot glue.
Finally I made a belt in paper and glued to the dress.
I know we dressed her up for our own amusement.
But I assure you it only took a few seconds.
And soon she was free to go sit in her favorite spot.

Star Wars Pets : Pepito Ewok.
My little friend Pepito and his mom Pilar came to visit us again, and since last time we saw him, we have been saying how great he would look as a Ewok.
Now that he is here again, we couldn't miss the opportunity.
To make his costume, I used honey color plush (leftover from the hamburger bean bag), and I cut this shape (measuring in his body).
Next I sewed the legs.
To make the arms the pieces were cut like this (making sure the dimensions were proportional to his body).
Then I used the sewing machine to close the arms.
To stuff the arms, I used pieces of the same fabric.
And I attached both arms.
Then two pieces to tie the costume behind his neck.
To make his weapon, I had a thick skewer, that was glued to the hand. The edge of the weapon was made of paper.
To make the head piece and the "scarf", I cut my husband's brown T-shirt.
The last thing was go for the photo shoot.
I know he couldn't care less about these pictures or the costume...
