Flying Saucer Cookie Tray

It is almost Summer and the school end of the year parties are starting.
My son's Astronomy Club will end tomorrow and at his request I am sending cookies. I was too lazy to bake the cookies, so I grabbed some Chips Ahoy on sale at ShopRite.
I wrapped 2 cookies together, but they looked too plain. So I decided to make some labels on Photoshop.
But then I didn't know how to serve them, a plate or a box looked very sad. That is why looking at some astronomy images, I saw a flying saucer and that what I decide to make.

As always my budget was low, so at the Dollar store I found some trays that could do the closest job. And a clear cup to place on top.

Next I used some blue paint tape in parchment paper to make circles.
I taped the circles in the clear tray to make little windows.
I painted the inside of the tray with silver (in the inner circle), then black paint on the outside. It needed about 3 layers of paint to cover the clear parts.
After the paint was dry, the blue tape was removed to make the little windows. On the clear windows I made some drawings in paper.
They were each glued on the inside part, with the aliens facing outside.
I made this little alien with clay and a little control panel in paper.

Then glued on top of the upside down painted tray.
And finally glued the clear cup to cover.

The serving tray is ready.
And this is how aliens with their flying saucers are in my head.
Happy and peaceful.
