Fix that Back Pack!

Sometimes my quest to be creative is not successful, and I end up ruining what came perfect in first place.
I had this travel backpack, and in an attempt to make it more festive, I glued fabric stars using glue gun. Not only the stars came off, but the glue stayed. And to finish my cat slept on top, so it had furry patches. Very ugly.
So after I tried my best to remove the hair and the excess glue, using sticky roll, a knife, glue gun, nail polish remover... this was the best I could make look.

To find something to cover those patches was another challenge, and after going through all my different materials, I found these cute buttons that were on sale at Michael's a while ago. So I sewed the buttons on top of each ugly patch.

Hopefully I gave a few more years to use, and we don't have to buy a new one.
